Be the most positive, enthusiastic person you know
Like attracts like. If you commit to being positive and enthusiastic you will naturally and effortlessly attract positive and enthusiastic friends, clients, partners, lovers, customers. Not only that; because of your positive attitude, you will notice opportunities that more pessimistic people look over.
Do your best at EVERYTHING you do
The way you do anything, is the way you do everything. Giving your 100% applies to ALL areas of your life. That means, for example, when you clean that cat box do it with intention, joy, efficiency and thoroughness. When you dedicate yourself do doing your very best in every moment, your life will radiate that perfection!
Commit yourself to constant improvement
What is the common denominator in all of the areas of your life where you want to see success? You are! All of the power lies within you! Therefore, constant improvement assures that you are always at your very best. When you make yourself a priority in your life, you are able to remain full, balanced, clear of mind, open to your intuition, and decisive. All of these traits allow you to be successful in whatever endeavor you choose.
Nothing can be created in the physical world without first believing that it's possible in the mental/spiritual world. If you are desiring success, whether it's a successful marriage, business or manifestation of your unique goals, you first must really believe that it is possible, that you deserve it, and that it WILL happen (it's just a matter of when). Then you can just rest it faith, leap courageously, and trust that the Universe has got your back.
Forgive (be in the now)
Past blame and hate to yourself or others only drags you down. Let it go, move into the present moment, and accept yourself (and others) as whole, perfect & complete just the way they are (warts and all). If there is trauma that you are having trouble forgiving, seek the support you need to recover, so that you can be fully present in your life. The big "T" truth is that everyone is doing the best with the tools they have, and most hurts are innocent. Note: this does not mean to forget or to remove appropriate boundaries in your life. Accepting someone doesn't mean being a doormat for them.
Take 100% Responsibility
Everything about you is a result of your doing or not doing... Your income. Debt. Relationships. Health. Fitness level. Attitudes and behaviors.
I've often said that you are either creating or allowing everything that is happening in your life.
I think everyone knows this in their hearts, but often times people convince themselves into thinking that external factors are the source of their failure, disappointment, and unhappiness.
External factors do not determine how you live. YOU are in complete control of the quality of your life, by either creating or allowing the circumstances you experience.
Each person has a natural way of being with unique skills and gifts. Until you embrace who you are, you will not find true success and happiness. If your a loud-mouth show-off masquerading as a reserved professional then you haven't yet come into alignment with your authentic self. Discover who your authentic self is, disregard limiting beliefs about who you "should" be, and let your authentic self soar.
"Be yourself, everyone else is already taken"
Alone, a bird can fly about 60 miles per day. When they get the support of other birds (flying in a V formation) they can fly over 300 miles per day. In the same why, those who you surround yourself with greatly effect your ability to succeed. If you are seeking success, surround yourself with people who support you in your goals, who celebrate who you are, and who add value to your existence.
Be bold and courageous
Take Risks. Be okay with failure. Say YES to life. Feel fear, and do it anyways. Wild beyond-your-dreams success lies outside your comfort zone. In order to get outside your comfort zone, you have to move through fear. Make a commitment to following the action steps towards your dream or goal, and let nothing stop you.
If you can't see the target, you aren't likely to hit it. The more clarity you have around what, the more you will be able to attract opportunity and discover open doors. Knowing yourself, your unique needs and desires, knowing what you want so clearly that you can feel, hear and taste it is a sure-fire way to create success in your life.
The approach of the Winter Solstice and the turning of seasons always inspires in me a need for space, calm, reflection and hibernation. This, at times, can be challenging, as our American culture says that I 'should' feel overjoyed, excited, and full of 'holiday spirit'.
I feel the pressure to be busy, do extra shopping, go to extra holiday events, and, of course, provide the best Holiday experience for my kids and family. As you can see, there is quite a contradiction between my natural rhythms this time of year, and the culture I live in.
This year, I've heard many others report; "I'm just in a funk", "I've lost my patience", "I just can't find my holiday spirit", so I got to thinking (and writing) about the solstice and what it means to me.
As I sit and write this, winter solstice is approaching fast and I have gone into my “cave”. It happens every year and before I understood the energies that surround this time of year, I always felt a mild depression, a sort of melancholy, and a lack of energy to get things done (which of course led to self beat-up about how I “should” be). Now that I understand what’s going on, life is much easier, and the Solstice, and Christmas, is much more enjoyable.
So here it goes: This season is not about 3am shopping, weekends filled with holiday parties, and stress about choosing the perfect gift. In a nutshell, the Winter Solstice is the time to germinate the spiritual, emotional and financial seeds that will grow into your life and be harvested next summer and fall.
Sept 21 marks the end of the harvest and the energetic end of the year. Fall is a lull to reflect on what worked and what didn’t and to decide what you want for next year. Around Halloween, you embrace your own shadow and let go of what died or failed. Yes, you can hide behind a costume and sweeten the bitter pill with candy but you do need to release old stuck stuff, from the deepest levels of your being. In November you set your intention with gratitude for what WILL be as well as what has been and plant the seeds of your future deep deep into your unconscious, before the ground freezes over.
Seeds germinate in the dark when everything looks like it has gone to sleep. It’s the same with us. That’s why the time leading up to the Winter Solstice (Dec 21 in the Northern Hemisphere) is the time to go within, to put our conscious mind to ‘sleep’, (i.e. to go into a deep meditation and to communicate with the Universe and its infinite possibilities)! It is a time when going into your 'cave' and seeking the silence that induces surrender and heart opening is a good thing.
From a spiritual and manifestation point of view, December is not a good time to get busy and active. It is a time to mellow and sleep, to follow the natural rhythms of life. Here are some ideas that have created a huge shift for me during this time of year, I hope they work for you.
